Hilary Williams is a Chicago-based Actor, Writer, and Filmmaker. She has had the immense pleasure of working on stage with many Chicago theatre companies, some of which include The Hypocrites, LifeLine, Rivendell Ensemble, Steep Theatre, and Northlight.  She is a company member of Bramble Theatre. In addition to theatre, she can be seen on television in Chicago Fire, as well as the films Older Children and Dad Man Walking. Her voice can be heard in several PBS cartoons and on Unwell, A Midwestern Gothic Mystery, winner of the Best Podcast award at the 2021 BBC Audio Drama Awards.

Williams recently co-wrote, directed, produced, and starred in the short film Luteal, an official selection of Toronto Short Film Festival, Midwest Film Festival, Omaha Film Festival, and winner of Best Screenplay at Festival Au Cinema. Luteal also showcased at Reeling's 40th International Film Festival.

In addition to Luteal, Williams co-wrote, co-producer, and provided art direction for the film atoms of ashes. It was accepted into 7 film festivals and the Best of the Midwest Award for Best Editing and Women of Now Anniversary Showcase Judges Choice Award. Timeout Chicago called the film “an exhilarating journey through cycles of love, loss, and rebirth that seems to encapsulate the entire universe in just seven minutes.” Her other work has been as co-art direction for the short “My Name is Alex,” and writer/actor on the short films, “But Not Like That,” “803 Krug Park,” and “Curiously Lydia Prosper.”

As an educator, she has taught solo performance, autobiographical writing, acting, and Shakespeare with Storycatchers (for incarcerated and court-affiliated youth), Still Point (for incarcerated women), and Shakespeare Behind Bars (at IYC-Chicago). She also teaches sexual assault prevention and harm reduction with Catharsis Productions.

Hilary is a proud member of  SAG/AFTRA and a graduate of the School at Steppenwolf. She is represented by Shirley Hamilton Talent.
